Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing, ensuring a high level of patient care and comfort throughout the process. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology and a strong understanding of laboratory procedures. The Phlebotomist will work closely with patients, hospital staff, and laboratory personnel to facilitate accurate and timely testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients.
• Ensure proper identification of patients and labeling of specimens.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures to patients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their comfort during the blood draw.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and laboratory technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain equipment used for blood collection.
• Document all procedures accurately in patient records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory practices.
• Proven experience in phlebotomizing patients effectively and compassionately.
• Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with hospital environments and laboratory operations is preferred.
• Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training program completion is desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
