Job Overview:
Excel Career College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Pharmacy Technician Program Coordinator to provide academic and administrative leadership for our accredited Pharmacy Technician Program. The Coordinator ensures excellence in program delivery, regulatory compliance, faculty supervision, and student success while contributing to the College's mission of high-quality, student-centered education. This role blends academic leadership, program coordination, and when required, direct classroom instruction.

Required:
Current registration or licensure as a
Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist
with the
College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC)
.
Assets:
Experience in program coordination or academic administration.
Previous teaching experience in a Pharmacy Technician or health sciences program.
Working knowledge of
CCAPP accreditation standards
and
PTIB institutional requirements
.
Minimum
two (2) years of recent, relevant pharmacy practice experience
.
Completion of, or enrollment in, the
Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP)
or equivalent; OR
Minimum
two years of teaching or training experience
in a post-secondary or healthcare setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Academic and Program Oversight
Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate all academic activities within the Pharmacy Technician program.
Ensure compliance with CCAPP, PTIRU, and CPBC standards and regulations.
Oversee curriculum development, revisions, and course scheduling in collaboration with faculty.
Develop and assess program learning outcomes aligned with current pharmacy practice.
Lead program evaluations and institutional quality assurance reviews.
Faculty Leadership and Support
Recruit, appoint, and mentor qualified instructors and clinical preceptors.
Conduct faculty orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a collaborative teaching environment and encourage professional growth.
Promote instructional excellence and student engagement.
Student Success and Academic Integrity
Provide academic advising, mentorship, and guidance to students.
Monitor attendance, performance, and progression to ensure student success.
Address academic concerns and uphold institutional policies on integrity and professionalism.
Create an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners.
Curriculum Development and Accreditation
Coordinate curriculum design and updates to maintain CCAPP accreditation standards.
Lead program self-studies, annual reports, and accreditation submissions.
Liaise with regulatory bodies (CPBC, CCAPP) and industry partners.
Integrate feedback from employers, faculty, and students to enhance program quality.
Administrative and Operational Management
Manage program resources, equipment, and budgets.
Maintain program and student records in accordance with institutional policy.
Coordinate class and lab schedules, instructor assignments, and clinical placements.
Collaborate with Admissions, Operations, and Student Services to ensure smooth program delivery.
Institutional and External Engagement
Participate in college committees, strategic planning, and policy development.
Represent the program at professional, community, and accreditation events.
Build and maintain partnerships with pharmacy employers and clinical sites to support experiential learning.
Teaching Responsibilities (as required)
Deliver engaging classroom and/or laboratory instruction following approved curriculum.
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain a student-centered, supportive learning environment.
Working Conditions
On-site position at Excel Career College - Surrey Campus.
Occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate program or accreditation needs.
Some travel may be required for clinical site visits, meetings, or professional development.
