Your Opportunity:
As a member of the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre Team, the Pharmacy Technician will have the opportunity to work with multiple Pharmacy Team members working to their full scope of practice. Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: supporting Pharmacy Services NLRHC through the means of: purchase order review and processing, placing orders for medications or bulk supplies from multiple manufacturers or vendors, maintaining appropriate inventory of pharmaceuticals for departments, arranging transport and shipments for the sending and receiving drugs (including refrigerated items and dangerous goods) from other hospitals or agencies as required, reconciling prices according to contract changes, third party billing, liaising with AHS Finance regarding billing, material management regarding locating, receiving or returning drug shipments, providing zone support to troubleshoot inventory related issues. Coverage supports through order entry, final product checking of non-sterile products that may include individual patient prescriptions and ward stock, inventory management in regard to ordering, receiving, and medication maintenance with a responsibility for turnover to reduce expiring medications may also be required. Providing guidance to and assisting with the training and orientation of staff and students. Participating in special projects, supporting provincial pharmacy programs as assigned. Maintaining department records, statistics and preparing reports as required. Performs other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Pharmacy Omnicell support, along with reviewing Omnicell reports and making recommendations for improvement.

As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
