The Alberta Health Services (AHS) Outpatient Pharmacy Contracts team is part of the Provincial Operations portfolio of Pharmacy Services and is responsible for managing the contract and relationship between AHS and the contracted-outpatient pharmacies. As the Edmonton Outpatient Pharmacy Contracts Technician, you will report to the Manager, Outpatient Pharmacy Contracts. You will be responsible for coordinating medication procurement and back order management, inventory reconciliation and associated billing for AHS specialty programs. As a strong communicator, you will have the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with all members of the healthcare team to facilitate seamless patient care from the outpatient pharmacies. Duties include: verifying invoices, verifying billable transactions and preparing payments. Other duties include being responsible for the price file maintenance and updating of reporting tools for use with drugs purchased by AHS for the three Edmonton contracted outpatient pharmacies. The successful candidate must be customer-focused, and collaborates with the team to share information, identify opportunities to improve care processes, flow processes and the work environment. The candidate must be self-directed, able to work under minimal supervision, well-organized, and flexible to meet changing needs of the population served. He/she is committed to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
