Working within their legislated scope of practice and scope of employment, the Pharmacy Practice Assistant assumes responsibility for their own actions, are accountable to the public and contribute as a healthcare professional to plan of care and function of pharmacy to ensure a safe and healthy environment.The Pharmacy Practice Assistant functions are self-determined, assigned through management, the pharmacist, another Pharmacy Technician or as requested by other members of the care team.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Grade XII plus completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician/Technology Program (accredited program preferred) OR one-year full-time experience as a hospital pharmacy technician OR two yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a community pharmacy technician
• Licensure in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) is an asset
• Two yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a pharmacy technician/pharmacy practice assistant, preferably in a hospital, an asset
• Knowledge of medical terminology, inventory control and record keeping
• Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medications
• Basic typing skills or computer/keyboard experience; skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
• Must have reliable transportation as travel may be required (on occasion)
