Market Drugs Medical is seeking to hire a full time permanent Pharmacy Manager to commence in the middle to end of January 2026.

Established in 1965, Market Drugs Medical continues to be a family owned and independently operated community pharmacy located in the heart of Edmonton's downtown core and LRT transportation network.
We have a diverse, professional, customer-service oriented health care team consisting of twenty-one staff members, with the majority being long term employees.
In addition to being a retail pharmacy, we specialize in medical supplies for individual use at home such as ostomy, urological, and wound care dressings. We have a non-sterile cleanroom compliant to NAPRA Standards.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Saturday 10 am -2 pm. No evenings or Sundays.
Overview
The selected candidate will manage, motivate and collaborate with the pharmacy team to provide superior customer service focused on patient care, health and wellness. They will provide leadership and manage the staff on a daily basis to ensure an ongoing positive and productive work environment. Through open, consistent communication the selected candidate will ensure all members of the team are working together to complete the tasks in the most efficient way possible.
Prepare, dispense and control medications accurately and timely to patients
Patient Focused Care - clinical services and individual patient counselling
Initiate care plans with regular follow up and documentation
Injections
Day to day pharmacy management, staff motivation, leadership and training
Staff scheduling, development and accountability
Ensure the pharmacy is operating in accordance to all regulations, rules and standards specified by ACP guidelines
Work with management and owners to support the strategic direction and vision of the Pharmacy
Understand and respond to local market needs and competition
Identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow within the pharmacy and reach new markets
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from a recognized institution.
Licensed with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
Previous management experience in a community pharmacy
Authorization to Inject
Excellent communication (oral and written) and listening skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Superior judgment and strong decision making skills
Able to work in a fast paced environment and delegate tasks to ensure work is done efficiently
The ideal candidate will also have,
APA- Additional Prescribing Authorization
Experience with Kroll and PACMED Automated Pharmacy Packing
Experience with Non-Sterile Compounding
Chinese language skills (Cantonese/ Mandarin*) would be considered an asset
