Bloom Pharmacy is a new pharmacy in South Calgary, dedicated to providing general pharmacy services, as well as supporting individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood.[AD1] The pharmacy is committed to providing excellent service and care.
South Calgary is the fastest growing area of Calgary, and is known for its extensive green areas, beautiful walking trails, and bike paths. It is an affordable area in which to live, with mature trees, contemporary architecture, and established city conveniences.

Roles & Responsibilities
: The Pharmacy Manager will be the licensee for Bloom Pharmacy Ltd. The Manager will manage, control, and supervise the practice in accordance with the Pharmacy and Drug Act, the code of ethics and the standards for the operation of licensed pharmacies in Alberta. He/she will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations, ensuring that practices are in accordance with all applicable National and Provincial laws and guidelines.
As a pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients undergoing treatments by ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications, providing patient education, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
DUTIES
: You will be responsible for:
Strategic planning, organizing, developing, and evaluating pharmacy services and operations.
Implementation of policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with the standard of practice according to the rules and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
Accurately dispensing medications in accordance with prescriptions and in adherence with the regulations, and guidelines set out by the Alberta College of Pharmacy. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail and display a commitment to accuracy in medication dispensing.
Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to optimize patient care, to ensure a clear understanding of the prescribed treatment plans. The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team is an essential requirement for the post.
Effectively communicating with patients, addressing inquiries and providing support throughout their treatment process. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Providing comprehensive counseling to patients including administration techniques, potential side effects, and addressing patient concerns.
Coordinating with insurance providers and assist with medication-related inquiries.
Monitoring medication inventory.
Participating in ongoing training and education to stay current with advances in treatments and pharmaceuticals.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with all local and Canadian laws.
The successful candidate will have good IT skills and experience with pharmaceuticals and other productivity software. Awareness of, and compliance with, the data privacy requirements for the province is essential for this position.
The Manager will be expected to provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operation, and marketing of pharmacy services, with an emphasis on broadening the market share of the pharmacy services. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a loyal customer base, and in ensuring cost effective operations and maximizing revenue with a patient-centric focus.
Managing and enabling all aspects of human resources planning, including recruitment, retention, safety, and professional development strategies.
Qualifications and Success Profile
:
Bachelor of Pharmacy; registered, licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Completed ACP's Licensee and Proprietor Education Program (LPEP)
No less than 3 years of experience in pharmacy operations and demonstrated pharmacy management in Canada.
Previously served as a licensee in Canada for no less than one year.
Previous experience dispensing fertility medication is preferred but not required.
Demonstrable understanding of federal and provincial legislation and the Standards for the Operation of Licensed Pharmacies, as required by the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
Energetic, with strong leadership, organizational, managerial, and interpersonal skills, and an ability to build relationships with vendors, insurance carriers and companies.
Knowledge and experience using pharmacy software (Kroll(TM))
Enthusiastic individual with strong business skills, adept at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and who is committed to delivering excellent customer service in keeping with Bloom pharmacy core values of compassionate and personalized care.
