We are seeking an enthusiastic
Instructor
with current pharmacy experience and a passion for teaching to join our team.
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging lectures and lab sessions, assessing student progress, and supporting learners in developing the technical and professional competencies required for entry-level pharmacy assistant roles.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver course instruction (theory and lab) in a hybrid format - both online and on-campus in Brampton
Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in alignment with the Pharmacy Assistant curriculum
Evaluate student progress through assignments, quizzes, and practical demonstrations
Maintain accurate grading, attendance, and progress records
Provide academic and career support to students
Ensure instruction aligns with current pharmacy practices, Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) guidelines, and institutional standards
Collaborate with the program coordinator and other faculty members to improve curriculum and student outcomes
Participate in regular instructor meetings and professional development activities
Qualifications
Pharmacy Assistant Diploma
or
Pharmacy Technician Diploma/License
(OCP registration preferred)
Minimum
3 years of recent pharmacy experience
(retail, hospital, or long-term care)
Prior teaching, or training experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Ability to teach in a hybrid (online + in-person) environment
Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices
Schedule
Approximately
5-15 hours per week
, depending on course load
Combination of
in-person labs
(Brampton campus) and
virtual lectures/discussions
Some flexibility for evenings or weekends based on student schedules
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly rate:
$30-$35/hour
