Your Opportunity:Direct patient care in a multidisciplinary team environment with the nephrology and renal transplant service. Drug distribution services (indirect patient care), including order and parenteral nutrition verification. Drug information and education/research activities. Precepting and teaching of pharmacy residents, staff, and students. Scholarly activities (presentations, research). Committee work.Description:As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). Additional Required Qualifications:Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA). Practice to expanded scope including APA and lab ordering. Clinically deployed with recent direct patient care experience (at least 1 year within the last 3 years) in nephrology and/or renal transplant. At least 2 to 5 years of recent hospital experience. Resume and cover letter required for all applications. Candidates are advised that Foothills Medical Centre Inpatient Pharmacy provides 24/7 services. Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience on a multi-disciplinary team. Hospital residency. Previous experience with training and precepting. Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care. Motivated and self-directed for on-going continuing competence. Previous project or research experience and committee work.
