Key activities include but are not limited to: Direct patient care services. Drug distribution services (indirect patient care). Drug information and education/research activities. Precepting and teaching of pharmacy residents, staff, and students.

Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA). Practice to expanded scope including APA and lab ordering. Recent direct patient care experience (at least 1 year within the last 3 years). 2 to 5 years of recent hospital experience. Previous experience on a multi-disciplinary team. Computer literacy for drug information and work processing. Foothills Medical Centre Pharmacy is a 24/7 facility. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in General Medicine. Hospital residency an asset. Previous experience with training and precepting. Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care. Motivated and self-directed for on-going continuing competence. Demonstrates good time management. Previous project experience and committee work. Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP).
