We do understand that from time-to-time exceptional talent may not live near our offices and therefore encourage applicants from across Canada to apply.Primary FocusThe Pharmaceutical Review Assistant (PRA) provides specialized technical and administrative support to multidisciplinary CADTH research teams in preparing (writing) reports that address specific research and/or policy questions regarding pharmaceutical products.On any given day, the Pharmaceutical Review Assistant will: Work within multidisciplinary review teams to provide technical support for the preparation of pharmaceutical review reports that address pharmaceutical-related research and/or policy questions, including but not limited to: literature screening and selection; data extraction; data checking; summarizing data; drafting, proofreading, and editing report contents Act as sole author for certain CADTH products (e.g., Rapid Response reports, Environmental Scans, Horizon Scans) and as a secondary author for larger projects for all programs within the Pharmaceutical Reviews directorate, such as the CADTH pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review (pCODR), the CADTH Common Drug Review (CDR), and Optimal Use Provide specialized administrative support to internal teams and external committees to ensure accurate collection, collation, recording, and communication of key information, including but not limited to recording decisions for expert committee meetings; taking minutes and noting actions for drug plan guidance committees; noting issues relevant to other important internal and external meetings, as required; and creating technical surveys Support current program priorities and support initiatives aligned with corporate CADTH objectives to enhance transparency, support evidence-based decision-making, and ensure continuous quality improvementIs this the right role for you?The Pharmaceutical Review Assistant will likely have: A master's degree plus related experience in a health research environment, writing or preparing reports and briefing notes. Preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree in a health-related discipline (epidemiology, health technology assessment, pharmacy) General statistics knowledge Good understanding of the Canadian health care system at the federal, provincial, and territorial levels Understanding of medical and scientific language, and a commitment to develop knowledge of systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and related topics Familiarity with research data to drive and support decisions Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into action Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and several projects simultaneously Comfortable with giving and receiving balanced feedback Able to work with little direction but know when to ask for helpAssets Fluency in FrenchTo apply for this position, visit the Careers section of our website at www.cadth.ca/careers.
