  • Upgrade, install, and validate critical process automation systems utilizing PLCs, Drives, HMIs, Network Engines and other intelligent electronic devices.
  • Act as a technical liaison between client Production, Engineering and IT groups to integrate equipment and building management systems.
  • Work closely with project teams providing technical and project direction and support to supervisors, managers, and engineers.
  • Coordinate the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects to ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide regular technical status updates on projects to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and make recommendations on technical aspects of projects taking into account engineering principles, company standards, client requirements, and related standards and regulations.
  • Generate electrical specifications and drawings, review electrical documents, and create and execute field-test documents for various electrical systems.
  • Generate and execute commissioning, qualification, and validation test plans and final reports, summarize testing activities and deviations across a wide variety of equipment, utilities, and automation systems used in the regulated industries.
  • Resolve engineering design and technical problems.
  • Review and evaluate changes to design, specifications, and drawings.
  • Create Change Control documents and follow through for closure.
  • Perform calculations related to equipment, processes, and utilities.
  • Perform source code review of ladder logic.
  • Perform equipment vendor coordination during specification, installation, and validation activities.
  • Coordinate site contractor duties.
  • Schedule and coordinate client meetings.
  • Produce project reports and schedules and support project planning and proposal processes as required.
  • Support Project Managers with resource ramp-up and technical reviews/guidance for Company project teams.
  • Support training of new employees on automation/controls principles and applications.
  • Work on multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in automation/controls.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, or environmental)
  • P.Eng or working towards obtaining license in Ontario
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and engineering practices preferred
  • Hands-on experience in the implementation of various automated testing solutions preferred
  • Strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
