We are currently looking for a

Part-Time Pest Control Technician

located in Cape Breton, NS. This role is expected to be

20 - 40 hours a week,

with possibility for more hours as business increases. Preference to applicant located in Industrial Cape Breton and must be willing to travel. Travel will be located throughout Cape Breton and occasional service work through Central and eastern Nova Scotia. Schedule is

Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call work

as needed.

Pest Control Technician Responsibilities:



Conduct thorough inspections of residential or commercial premises to identify pest infestations and determine the extent of the problem. Identify the type of pests present and assess the level of risk or potential damage they pose. Develop and implement effective pest control strategies and treatment plans to eliminate pests, using appropriate techniques, tools, and chemicals. Safely apply pest control treatments to infested areas, following all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Advise clients on proper sanitation practices, structural repairs, and other preventive measures to minimize the risk of future pest infestations. Keep detailed records of pest control activities, including findings, treatments used, and recommendations for clients. Maintain and service pest control equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and compliant with industry standards. Stay updated on the latest pest control techniques, products, and regulations to continuously improve knowledge and skills. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns, answering questions, and offering advice on maintaining a pest-free environment. Collaborate with team members or supervisors to coordinate work schedules, share knowledge, and ensure efficient service delivery.

Pest Control Technician Required Skills:



Strong knowledge of pests, their behaviors, and appropriate treatments. Excellent problem-solving abilities to accurately identify and assess pest infestations. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions in a timely manner. Attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections and precise application of treatments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Physical stamina and agility to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights. Basic computer skills to maintain accurate records and generate reports. Familiarity with safety guidelines and regulations related to pest control.

Required Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent. Valid pest control license or certification. Previous experience in pest control or a related field is preferred but not always required. Knowledge of local regulations and guidelines for pest control practices. Ability to safely handle and apply pest control chemicals. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check.
