Torch Family Fitness Personal Trainer - Independent Contractor

Position Overview

Torch Family Fitness is a well-established, community-focused fitness club in Essex, Ontario. We are seeking a certified and self-motivated Personal Trainer to join our team as an independent contractor. This is a flexible, business-minded role where you set your own rates, schedule your own hours, and work directly with your clients to help them achieve their health and fitness goals. Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and/or small group training sessions customized to client goals and abilities

Conduct fitness assessments, track progress, and adapt programs as needed

Demonstrate safe and proper exercise techniques and equipment use

Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to encourage long-term success

Manage your own client scheduling, communication

Operate in compliance with Torch Family Fitness policies and facility guidelines

Requirements

Current Personal Training Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., CanFitPro, ACE, NASM, ISSA)

Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain before starting)

Must carry and maintain own liability insurance

Previous personal training experience preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Self-motivated and reliable with a commitment to client results
