Overview

Seeking Support Worker who speaks English and either Hindi or Punjabi. You will provide essential assistance to an individual in need of care elderly male who has poor vision. Care will be at home in Port Credit. Care will be typical of the elderly PSW work. Resume required. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings and also be able to provide simple tech advice for an elderly person. Tasks will include taking the individual for a walk safely.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety at all times. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel. Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Support families by providing information about available resources and services. Uphold the dignity and respect of each client while fostering a supportive environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a caregiving role such as nurse, home care aide, or support worker is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices and techniques is a plus. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and patient care standards. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to manage casework efficiently while maintaining confidentiality. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Certification or training in hospice care or working with persons with disabilities is advantageous but not mandatory.
