Cylindrical Grinder Level 1

to join our team in Edmonton, AB. We're looking for a skilled professional to help us deliver high-quality repair and maintenance services.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for grinding and machining components to exact specifications. Your work will involve:

Operating cylindrical grinders, magnets, centers, 4-jaw chucks, and lathes to grind or machine, ensuring high-quality results. Interpreting blueprints and engineering information. Using measuring instruments like micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators, pre-set gauges. Troubleshooting machine malfunctions. Inspect completed units for defects and conformance to specifications. Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth operations. Machine or grind external/internal cylindrical and tapered surfaces. Monitor machines during operation. Use lifts, cranes, and hoists for material transfer.
We're looking for someone who is a productive team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to safety and quality.

What We Offer

Hourly Rate:

$26.00 to $30.00 CAD per hour, based on experience and skills.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week, with flexibility for day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist or cylindrical grinder. Education in Mechanical Technology. Willingness to work various shifts.

Bonus points if you have:

Journeyman Machinist Certification. CNC Machining experience.
