Role Overview

As the

People & Talent Manager

, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping UnlockLand's workforce. You'll lead full-cycle recruitment, talent operations, and employee engagement initiatives, with a strong understanding of

real estate hiring patterns

-- from analysts and appraisers to developers and data engineers.

You'll report directly to the COO and collaborate with department heads to scale high-performing teams across engineering, marketing, product, and real estate strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Strategy

Develop recruitment strategies to attract real estate, SaaS, and AI talent across North America. Build pipelines for specialized roles: urban analysts, GIS specialists, developers, real estate advisors, and client success professionals. Partner with leadership to forecast hiring needs and design clear job architectures.

HR Operations & Culture

Oversee onboarding, performance management, and compensation benchmarking (especially for real estate-related roles). Maintain compliance with employment laws and best practices across Canada and the U.S. Foster a hybrid, flexible, and innovation-driven culture.

Employee Experience & Development

Design learning pathways around PropTech, AI, and real estate trends. Launch recognition and incentive programs aligned with company values. Organize internal "PropTech Fridays" or innovation sessions to keep teams engaged and inspired.

Leadership Partnering

Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and team leads in scaling departments. Provide HR analytics reports and insights for talent optimization. Represent UnlockLand at industry networking and career events.
What We're Looking For

Experience:

4+ years of HR, talent acquisition, or people operations experience (preferably in real estate, PropTech, or SaaS). Strong understanding of real estate role structures (development, brokerage, investment, urban planning). Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and employee lifecycle in a high-growth environment.

Qualities:

Strategic thinker with strong execution skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Passionate about technology, data, and the built environment. Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in creating scalable HR processes.
