The Role: People Services Administrative Assistant (8-week, full-time contract)
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support to the People Services Department and the Employment & Education Department. The principal responsibilities of the position are to assist with the onboarding and file management of the Stampede Summer Work Experience program youth, manage the flow of information, database maintenance, administrative duties, and other general tasks as required.
As a Canada Summer Jobs position, the candidate must meet the following criteria:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
Be a Canadian citizen OR permanent resident.
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with onboarding new staff (offer letters, release forms etc.)
Update & maintain Learning Management System
Assist with data and forms collection to assist payroll
File audits for accreditation prep
Data entry
File maintenance
Work collaboratively with others on shared projects
Contribute to a positive, supportive and rewarding work environment
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Expectations
Preference shown to those working towards a Diploma in Administration or Human Resource Management and/or 1 to 2 years of experience in an employee support function.
Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Proven organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
Able to work independently and effectively in a team environment
Comfort and knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite
Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Child Welfare Intervention Check (Will be done upon hire with our support)*.

This position reports to the Director of People Services.
