, you will be the heart of our company's culture and the central point for all things related to our people and workplace. You'll be responsible for everything from attracting new talent to building a positive work environment and ensuring our team has everything they need to succeed.

JOB SUMMARY



Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the People & Culture Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Human Resources function within ActiveDEMAND. The People Success Manager plays a key role in developing and maintaining a positive organizational culture, promoting employee engagement and retention, and fostering a safe and inclusive work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Held accountable for the outcome of the:

Ensuring ActiveDEMAND is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, including staying current on changes to employment law and regulations and advising leadership on potential impacts. Managing the HR budget and expenses.[MR2] Promoting and maintaining a strong, high-performing workplace culture.
The key responsibilities of the People & Culture Manager include:

Leadership & Management Support:



Providing guidance and mentorship to the Senior Leadership team for all HR-related matters. Identifying areas of opportunity for growth and development within ActiveDEMAND and collaborating with leadership on strategic decision-making related to all HR-related matters. Creating and delivering presentations to leadership on HR metrics and analytic insights. Collaborating with Senior Leadership to plan and implement effective leadership training and development programs that align with ActiveDEMAND's strategic goals and objectives. Directly managing all Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and organizational culture. Demonstrating and promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

Human Resources and Employee Support:



Managing employee relations, including conflict resolution and progressive discipline. Providing guidance and coaching to managers regarding best practices and advise on applicable ActiveDEMAND policies and procedures. Developing and implementing HR and Health and Safety policies and procedures. Developing and implementing employee training and development programs. Collaborating with Senior Leadership on the strategy and development of recruitment and hiring practices. Overseeing full cycle recruitment: Developing job descriptions, posting job advertisements, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, preparing interview questions, and providing hiring recommendations. Creating new hire offer letters and employment agreements and negotiating terms with candidates. Creating and overseeing the onboarding strategy and new hire processes, including orientation sessions. Overseeing performance assessments and assisting managers with the employee grievance processes. Leading and conducting workplace investigations: Determining if behaviour is in violation of federal regulations and ActiveDEMAND policies and providing findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership. Managing employee offboarding processes, conducting exit interviews, and providing severance agreements when applicable. Developing and implementing succession planning strategies. Overseeing and managing personnel file audits.

Administrative Operations:



Administering our health benefits plans, managing all related new hire paperwork, and assisting with payroll as needed. Coordinating the procurement of all IT equipment for new and existing employees, including ordering laptops, monitors, keyboards, etc., and coordinating their delivery. Maintaining an accurate inventory of all company-owned equipment. Managing the collection of equipment from departing employees, ensuring a smooth and organized offboarding process.

ACTIVEDEMAND AMBASSADOR



As a member reporting to the ActiveDEMAND Team it is expected that all positions act professionally both inside and outside the company.

The responsibilities of an ActiveDEMAND Ambassador include:

Internal and external networking; Forming professional relationships with external people, including customers, suppliers, partners, and other business associates. Building healthy, internal relationships with the ActiveDEMAND team, across the entire company, and across all levels of management. Focusing on total quality management in every task regardless of size and importance. Demonstrating continuous improvement of yourself, others, and ActiveDEMAND as an organization. Seeking professional development on an ongoing basis to grow professionally and contribute more to ActiveDEMAND by taking control of your career path. Leading and empowering your direct reports to be leaders whenever possible. Understanding, applying, and following ActiveDEMAND's policies and procedures. Respecting others' time by planning in advance and keeping an on-time schedule. Striving to communicate clearly and effectively, which includes knowing when to use email, the telephone, or meeting in person. Maintaining a healthy work ethic and taking pride in your work.

QUALIFICATIONS



Education and Experience:



Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent. Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or working towards is considered an asset. 3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a Management or Senior HR Generalist capacity. Strong understanding of Human Resources practices, including all applicable provincial laws and regulations. Experience or industry knowledge in senior living, marketing agencies, software sales, and/or marketing automation software is considered an asset.

Skills and Knowledge:



Strong understanding of Alberta employment legislation. Ability to multi-task with strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization, including managing conflict and finding effective solutions. Highly organized and detail-oriented with a structured approach to process and documentation. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Demonstrated experience managing and analyzing data, interpreting findings, communicating analyses and results, and making sound recommendations based on findings. Experience with Humi/Employment Hero is considered an asset.
