This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. We are searching for a collaborative and strategic leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop and implement business strategies which support future/ongoing plans and projects at Toronto Community Housing. A key focus of the role will be to strengthen our Benefit and Pension function.
What you'll do
Ensure compliance and accuracy in the administration of benefits and pension Plans based on the organization's policies, legislation and collective agreements.
Create and maintain the benefit and pension Standard Operating Procedures consistent with TCHC Policies.
Create workflows and processes to outline opportunities for improvement, incorporating best practices in these administrative areas.
Ensure procedures are implemented and practiced to ensure consistency.
Provide education, and communication of benefit and pension policies and procedures at TCHC, in partnership with external consultants and service providers.
Reporting and analytical assessments required in support of senior management and all stakeholders.
Identify trends when analyzing data and recommend solutions focused on efficiencies.
Prepare benefit and/or pension cost estimates for the HR/LR Units in relation to reorganizations or any total compensation changes.
Review and validate benefit and pension remittances.
Ensure that benefit and pension reconciliations are conducted monthly and adjustments implemented to ensure accuracy between TCHC and service provider systems.
Ensure the proper administration and accuracy of the annual Health Spending Account entitlement and disbursements of funds.
Conduct staff training as required.
Act as SME in benefits administration.
Act as emergency backup for any absences in the benefit and pension areas.
Lead in the year end benefit validation and reporting to taxable benefits.
What you'll need
Post-secondary Diploma with benefits and pension certification.
CEBS designation as asset.
5 - 7 years of experience working in all aspects of benefits and pension administration; preferably Defined Benefit Plan.
5 - 7 years working experience in multiple unionized environment, ability to interpret and implement changes in the Collective Agreement relating to pension and benefits.
5 - 7 years of experience working in a customer-focused, reconciliation and analytical role.
5 - 7 years working experience creating ad-hoc reports from HRIS systems.
Advanced Excel skills including vlook-up, nested IF statements and Pivot tables.
Experience editing and creating Crystal Reports using Ceridian is an asset (editing selection formulas and linking tables).
Proven analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a strong attention to detail.
