Under the direction of the Manager, Health Services, provides and co-ordinates nursing care to pediatric patients and their families in accordance with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Promotes Family Centered Care, Best Practices and actively participates in the development of a quality workplace environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Current basic CPR Level 3. Completion of a recognized postgraduate Level One Pediatric Nursing Course, which included a clinical practicum or one year's recent related experience or evidence of an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses an asset. Neonatal and Obstetrical courses and experience may be considered.

  • Ability to apply pediatric nursing theory and expertise in the nursing care of pediatric patients.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a continually changing environment.

  • Ability to operate related equipment including a computer.
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
