The primary clinical responsibility of the physician would be clinical service at the Stollery Children' s Hospital.The successful applicant will join six academic physicians in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases with expertise in many areas including antimicrobial stewardship, global health, infection prevention and control, pediatric tuberculosis, transplant ID, and vaccinology.Location:Stollery Children's Hospital, 8440 112 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 2B7Community Information:Edmonton is a vibrant urban centre in the heart of the wilderness, the largest northernmost metropolis, and the capital of Alberta, Canada. No matter the season, Edmonton is made for exploring!Salary Details:Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.Job Duties:

  • This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) and will comprise approximately 60% clinical service and 40% academic pursuits: for example, research, teaching, and administrative duties for the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and long-term care for children with infectious diseases.
  • Within the clinical mandate of the Department and Division, the successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient consultation from zone NICUs, Northern Alberta and the NWT, as well as outpatient clinics and special immunization clinics.
  • Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty members.
Required Qualifications:
  • Applicants must hold an MD and have completed a specialty residency in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of high-quality research achievements as evidenced by peer-reviewed funding and high impact publications.
  • Must be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. See the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for more information on various routes of credentialing:
