The Payroll/Human Resources Intern will provide hands-on support to the HR and Payroll teams during the integration of Dayforce. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract position ideal for a recent graduate seeking practical experience in payroll, HR systems, and data management.
Duties and responsibilities
Assist with the transfer, validation, and reconciliation of employee payroll and HR data into Dayforce
Perform detailed data audits to identify discrepancies, missing information, and inconsistencies
Support system testing by carefully reviewing payroll calculations, employee profiles, and reports for accuracy
Assist with data cleanup, formatting, and preparation prior to migration
Update and maintain employee information, including job data, compensation, and time and attendance records
Document processes, data checks, and corrections completed during the integration
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll and employee data
Provide administrative support to the HR and Payroll teams as required during the implementation
Support additional HR or payroll-related tasks as assigned
Requirements and Skills
Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Payroll, or a related field
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with data
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Comfortable working with spreadsheets and large datasets; Excel experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow processes, document work clearly, and verify accuracy
Interest in payroll, HR operations, and HRIS systems
Experience with Dayforce or other HRIS systems is an asset but not required
Working conditions
Hours of work may vary depending on business needs
Role requires extended periods of working at a computer
Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers
Sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods may be required
Compensation & Benefits:
This position is a
6-month contract role
with an hourly rate of $20.00 CAD per hour. As a contract position, it is not eligible for company benefits, RRSP matching.
