Job description:

• Manage the preparation and processing of payroll for all unionized and non-unionized staff;
• Understanding and application of several collective agreements, company policies, tax laws and provincial laws (Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) relating to labor standards;
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (city, provincial, federal, agency, etc.);
• Prepare payroll journal entries at the end of each month;
• Validate government remittances made by the Payroll Department;
• Balancing and preparing year end reports related to the payroll process (T4 / R1, Summaries, CNESST, WSIB, WHSCC);
• Provide support to heads of departments with regard to the time and attendance system as well as payroll system;
• Optimize the use of the Timezone and Nethris systems and participate in the development of new modules;
• Respond to inquiries from employees, heads of departments, accounting and management staff;
• Validate and update the different time banks (vacations, illnesses, bank holidays, etc.);
• Management of group insurance premiums;
• Management of wage garnishments and remittances;
• All other related tasks.

Education:

• D.E.C. (Diploma of College Studies) - Essential

Qualifications:

• Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) Certification - Asset
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification - Asset

Skills:

• Knowledge of computer software (Suite Office) - Asset
• Accounting software - HOPEM - Asset
• Human resources management and payroll software (Nethris & Agile) - Asset

The Payroll and Benefits Manager is responsible for the complete payroll process, monitoring of all benefits. His responsibilities require having an overview of all department activities affecting payroll and benefits, including tax legislation, labor standards, collective agreements and company policies.

For all of our unionized positions, salary is based on the collective agreement in effect. For other positions, the salary is based on experience. In addition, it comes with benefits and preferential rates at all Tidan Group owned hotels.
