The Payroll Specialist collects, verifies and processes payroll information, determines pay and benefit entitlements for employees, and maintains accurate payroll records across all Doidge Building Centres Ltd. locations.
Location:
This position is on-site at the RONA store in Kincardine, Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments in ADP Workforce Now, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses, commissions, and vacation pay
Prepare payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, Records of Employment, and other required statements
Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits
Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
Monitor and track time-off balances for employees in accordance with company policies
Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation related to the administration of benefits such as leaves, employment, and medical insurance
Support the recruitment process by drafting and posting job advertisements, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and conducting phone interviews.
Track and maintain documentation for health and safety training including onboarding, first aid, and Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certifications
Conduct exit interviews
Qualifications:
Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Payroll Administration.
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification preferred.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong time management and problem-solving skills, able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficient computer skills; experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software required.
Strong math skills; basic understanding of business and accounting principles required.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
