Job Description


Volta Energy Solutions Canada Inc., based at our Granby plant, currently under construction, and in our Brossard administration office, is a new division of the global leader, Solus Advanced Materials Co., Ltd., established in 7 countries around the world. Our division, targeting the North American market, will manufacture high-end, compact and high-performance battery copper foil used to increase the mileage of electric cars.
JOB SUMMARY
As a payroll specialist and HR administrative support, your main mission will be to take charge of the complete payroll management, through our Employer D system, for our growing company as well as to assist human resources in some administrative aspects of human resources management during the hiring cycle, during employment and during departures. In particular, for example, these components include the administration of benefits such as vacations, group insurance (registration, follow-up, system updates, etc.). In addition, in collaboration with the HR team, you will participate in the value-added HR service by assisting employees to give information, raising awareness of good management practices and offering your support, when necessary, in order to collaborate in an exceptional quality of HR service for our employees.
MAIN TASKS DESCRIPTION
PAYROLL SECTION

  • Analyze and enter data and produce payroll in our Employer D payroll system;
  • Validate, enter and monitor data relating to human resources and payroll, ensure their integrity and compliance with laws, regulations and directives in force;
  • Perform administrative management related to the payroll system for new hires during Onboarding and and termination by ensuring legislative compliance and company policies.
  • Manage benefits such as RRSP contributions, group insurance, allowances, etc.
  • Maintain employee files up to date by ensuring that employee changes are entered correctly (information, salary, premium, bonus, etc.) in a timely manner;
  • Ensure follow-up related to the application of internal policies and legal compliance with the CNESST;
  • Ensure compliance with Company policy and federal, provincial regulations.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support related to the onboarding activities during the professional integration of new employees;
  • Act as a front-line resource for information and support for employees;
  • Create and update a system of documentation of practices and procedures affecting payroll as well as at the level of interventions and incident cases.
  • Propose optimization solutions for improving the systems and processes in place.
HR SECTION
  • Support the human resources team with certain administrative human resources tasks;
  • Collaborate in the improvement and updating of various human resources programs, policies, procedures or tools;
  • Collaborate in the administrative management of employee files;
  • Collaborate in sensitising employees on the application of established policies;
  • All related tasks related to the function of the position.
RESPONSIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE
  • Comply with the corporate legal rules and safety procedures of the company.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll standards and applicable laws.
TRAINING AND REQUIREMENT:
Education
  • Technical degree in accounting or in a relevant administration discipline and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
  • Have more than 3 years of experience in processing the complete payroll cycle
Knowledge
  • Good knowledge of a payroll system, preferably Employer D;
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly Excel, connaissance de la suite MS Office, particulixc3xa8rement Excel.
Skills
  • Demonstrate a strong professional ethics, discretion and rigor;
  • Have a very good sense of priorities, organization and proactivity;
  • Ensure attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Possess a good communication skill for assisting employees in their requests
  • Good ability to communicate in both languages (French/English) with employees and other departments of the company
  • Ability to adapt and be open to the change based on a global corporate culture
Assets
  • Experience and knowledge of the Employer D system would be a valuable asset;
  • Training/Certification as a Canadian Payroll Compliance Specialist would be an asset or to be open to an eventual training/certification.
