Duties



Manage end-to-end payroll processing using platforms such as

Workday and ADP

, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on schedule. Perform data entry and maintain meticulous records related to employee hours, benefits, taxes, and deductions within various payroll systems. Reconcile payroll accounts regularly, including general ledger accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to ensure consistency and accuracy. Process journal entries related to payroll expenses, benefits administration, and tax filings with precision and adherence to financial standards. Collaborate with HRIS systems like PeopleSoft or Kronos to update employee information, track time and attendance, and manage benefits data. Conduct account reconciliations for payroll-related accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations. Assist with non-profit accounting procedures when applicable, including tracking grants or funding allocations related to payroll expenses. Support tax compliance activities by preparing reports for tax filings and ensuring proper deductions are applied in accordance with governmental regulations. Contribute to internal audits by providing detailed reports on payroll transactions and account activity. Maintain thorough documentation of all payroll processes, updates, and adjustments for audit readiness.

Qualifications



Proven experience managing payroll using systems such as Workday and ADP is essential. Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping. Experience working within human resources systems (HRIS) and benefits administration tools is highly desirable. Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and tax regulations related to payroll processing is a plus. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and data analysis efficiently. Strong attention to detail coupled with exceptional organizational skills for accurate data entry and record keeping. Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings clearly across teams. Demonstrated proficiency in technical accounting practices relevant to payroll processing and bookkeeping tasks.
