Job Description

The Payroll Coordinator for McCarthy's Roofing is responsible for managing and administering a weekly staff and hourly payroll for the organization. This includes processing payroll, calculating deductions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

Duties



Lead the full payroll cycle - including changes, updates and verification of employee data and payments, payroll processing, balancing and reconciliation prior to submitting payroll, off-cycle payrolls and post payroll tasks.

Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments/ deductions, including but not limited to special payments such as bonus, vacation, unpaid leave, incentives, termination pay (pay in lieu/ severance), and allowances.

Responsible for documentation connected to all payroll cycle changes, payments, or adjustments in compliance with our processes and according to accepted standards or organization's records management and privacy legislation.

Lead the year-end process including but not limited to T2200's preparation, balancing, reconciliations and preparing year-end adjustments for T4's.

Help maintain vacation accrual integrity and other accruals as required.

Create and/ or pull payroll-related reports and ad-hoc reports as necessary.

Liaise with relevant departments concerning timecard approvals, troubleshooting and addressing any issues.

Support the employee life cycle events in Payworks and ensure data integrity in relation to these events as required.

Benefits premiums and associated reconciliations.

Processing leaves of absence and paid-time-off paperwork.

Process ROE's accurately and within the required deadlines as per Service Canada Guidelines and respond to Service Canada inquiries (phone or otherwise).

Work Experience Requirements



Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures

Proficiency in payroll and timekeeping software

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

Knowledge of Payworks payroll system

Education Requirements



2+ years of experience in the payroll and benefits department

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, 16-24 hours weekly
