Base salary range for this role is $60,000-$70,000 per year


The Role




As the Payroll Coordinator, you will manage a portion of the bi-weekly payroll process for approximately 400 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Overview of responsibilities



80% of your time



Payroll Operations



Work collaboratively with other Payroll Advisor to process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 400 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and provincial regulations. Review and audit payroll entries, including earnings, deductions, and benefit contributions. Ensure compliance with employment standards, tax laws, and company policies. Manage payroll records ensuring ease of audit. Process Records of Employment (ROEs), year-end tax documents (T4s), and other required payroll documentation. Collaborate with finance and HR teams on payroll reporting, employee issues and reconciliations. Reconciliation of PIER reports. Maintain strict confidentiality

Employee Support



Promptly respond to employee payroll related questions, providing clear explanations and guidance to employees. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. Produce and distribute sales commission statements. Produce blue book hours reports as requested.

20% of your time



Continuous Improvement & Projects



Identify and implement payroll process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy. Stay up to date with legislative changes and recommend necessary adjustments. Support system upgrades and enhancements for payroll software. Participate in special projects, including payroll audits, compensation analysis, and reporting initiatives.

Education



College Diploma or Degree in a related field is preferred A professional payroll designation- (PCP, PLP, etc.).

Experience



5+ years working in a full cycle payroll position in a company of 400+ employees. Strong knowledge of payroll systems, employment standards, and tax regulations. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis purposes. Excellent organization skills with high attention to quality, detail, and accuracy. Able to balance multiple priorities with strict deadlines in a fast-paced, lean environment. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
