About the OpportunityPayroll Processing:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll cycle for all employees, including full-time, part-time, and contract staff.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly/monthly payroll runs.
  • Review, verify, and update timesheets, overtime, and leave records.
  • Calculate and process payroll deductions including Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Employment Insurance (EI), and Income Tax (federal and provincial).
Compliance:
  • Ensure payroll complies with all applicable federal and provincial regulations, including those specific to Ontario and the property management industry.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, employment standards, and other legislation that may affect payroll.
  • File all necessary government remittances, including T4s, T4As, and ROEs, and ensure proper documentation is provided to employees.
Reporting and Recordkeeping:
  • Prepare and distribute employee payslips and summary payroll reports.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and ensure all payroll-related expenses are recorded accurately.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records.
  • Assist with year-end payroll reporting, including T4/T4A preparation and distribution.
Payroll System Management:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot payroll software and systems to ensure smooth processing.
  • Liaise with IT support if technical issues arise with the payroll system.
  • Recommend improvements to payroll systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other business operations, such as employee benefits, taxes, and compensation.
  • Provide payroll data and reports as required for budgeting and financial analysis.
About YouEducation & Certifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario payroll laws
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, ideally in a property management or real estate setting.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll systems, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, QuickBooks) is required.
Pay Range:
