Payroll Coordinator (1 year Contract, Full Time)
Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge (In branch and remote work)
Salary: $39,304.00/year - $43,671.00/year

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
Minimum of two years payroll experience;
Completion of CPA designation is considered an asset;
Strong confidentiality;
Knowledge of payroll legislation;
Familiarity with an accounting system for journal entries;
Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and work within a deadline-oriented environment;
Must be detail-orientated with accuracy;
Thorough understanding of Alberta Labour Employment Standards;
Effective communicator and ability to work well with individuals at all administrative levels;
Highly organized team-player;
Excellent computer skills;
Strong time management skills;
Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search;
Three professional references.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
The Payroll Coordinator may be required, from time to time, to stand for long periods of time to assist with filing or other administrative duties. The Payroll Coordinator will participate in all aspects of Crisis communication within their YMCA branch.
Duties and Responsibilities includes:
Operational Excellence
Process and pay multiple payrolls; inputting and processing each Semi-Monthly payroll throughout the year;
Manage inquiries from Service Canada;
Manage inquiries from employees;
Assist in reconciliations of payroll liability general ledger accounts;
Ensure proper completion and filing of all compliance reporting;
Input new hire documents in HRIS;
Perform other duties as assigned by the GM, Total Compensation;
Staff Development and Capacity Building
Represent the YMCA on Association Workgroups;
Health and Safety
Ensure compliance to all health and safety systems, policies, and procedures within your branch;
Ensure compliance of all personal certifications;
Community Engagement
Support the general manager in ensuring the YMCA has a positive presence in the local community;
Fund Development
Participate in and take an active role in Staff and Volunteer aspect of the Annual Campaign.
