The Payroll Consultant is the subject matter expert in Payroll Administration. This position provides support and feedback to the manager of HRIS and Payroll regarding the day-to-day operations of the team, while acting as a guide and liaison between departmental subject matter experts. The Consultant will take a strategic view to the Payroll operations of the team.
The Consultant will participate and support the managers in recruitment, mentorship and provide feedback to support performance reviews.
The Consultant will oversee the development and maintenance of effective and efficient systems, processes, and communication between employee services teams. They are responsible for ensuring fair and equitable Payroll Administration practices are adhered to in the pursuit of exceptional service.
Regular Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $40.27 per hour - $50.34 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Qualifications
Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Business - Human Resources , or as acceptable to the hospital
Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario payroll regulatory requirements and Collective Agreements
Highly developed consulting skills to provide advice, guidance and influence leaders
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Employment Legislation, HR policies and practices and employee rights and obligations
Ability to build collaborative partnerships to achieve results
Facilitation and networking skills
Strategic and organizational awareness
Detailed and results oriented
Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, Payroll systems (preferably PeopleSoft Payroll for North America)
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (Chicken Pox). In addition candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
