An entrepreneurial company with a legacy of success, we pride ourselves on having a team of industry leading talent and an exciting plan for the future.Reporting to the Director of Human Resources the Payroll Clerk/HR Administrator is responsible for processing a complex, Canada-wide payroll on a bi-weekly basis as well as assisting the HR team by:

  • Working closely with our Finance and Rewards departments to accurately apply appropriate accounting principles to payroll and administer monthly rewards and incentive payment programs
  • Tracking and implementing various HR rewards and benefits programs
  • Completing, tracking and monitoring various security clearances
  • Provide support to our managers and HR team with performance assessment and salary appraisal process
  • Assisting with our hiring processes and participating in the implementation of various employee training and orientation processes
  • Assisting with recruiting activities by conducting preliminary phone calls, analyzing responses, verifying references, comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Other HR and payroll administrative duties as assigned
  • Payroll experience, including a working knowledge of Canadian government legislation for payroll administration and reporting, considered an asset.
Qualifications:
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience is required
  • Proficiency in working with payroll software and Microsoft Office products required.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively interpret a variety of payroll policy, legislative and collective agreement documentation essential.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines; have excellent organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Must be highly committed to the provision of exceptional customer service.
  • Possess an understanding of employment standards and labour legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with ability to articulate with accuracy and detail
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to manage ever changing priorities and multi-task and meet goals/deadlines
