LOCATION: Thornbury, Ontario



ABOUT THE POSITION



The work is performed under the general supervision of the Site Controller in an office setting. There is daily contact with employees (salary and hourly), supervisors and managers. There is further contact with outside agencies and corporate administrators for benefit purposes. Work is performed primarily in an office environment.

Deliverables & Responsibilities



Accurate and timely processing of hourly and salary payroll using ADP Workforce Now.

Monthly reconciliations of various PTO plans

Calculation of monthly sales commissions

Work with employees, supervisors and managers to answer questions or resolve discrepancies.

Benefits administration in respect to adding/removing employees, updating wages, calculating and remitting premiums for benefit plans.

Reporting direct and indirect labour hours.

Preparation and reconciliation of records of employments, annual T4, T4A s, and 1099's and annual Worker's Compensation and Health Tax reconciliations.

Preparation of monthly entries to general ledger for payroll and benefits.

Preparation of bank reconciliation (3 accounts) and maintenance of company petty cash fund.

Supporting the finance team as required.

Works within expected company standards regarding ethics, safety, quality / ISO and environmental matters.

Maintain confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Optimize the efficiency of the payroll process

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:



PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) Certification preferred.

3 - 5 Years of previous payroll experience

3 - 5 years of payroll accounting experience

Must have ADP Workforce Now experience

Manufacturing experience is considered an asset

Oracle experience considered an asset

Knowledgeable in Provincial Employment Standards Act's

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication skills and confidentiality

Microsoft Office Skills with intermediate skills in Excel
