We currently have an opening for a

temporary Payroll & Benefits Administrator (13 month contract)

in our Edmonton office. As part of a team of 5, you will be responsible for all activities related to bi-weekly payroll, benefits and pension for a payroll of approximately 1200 from Ontario to British Columbia.

What you will do:




We are looking for an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills, meticulous and accurate attention to detail as well as the ability to work under a fast pace with tight payroll deadlines. This position will provide you with autonomy as you will be required to complete tasks with minimal supervision while still being part of a team. Responsibilities will include:


Accurately compiling and entering new hire data and completing new hire set up for all new team members. Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, and job title and department/division transfers. Completing final pay calculations including producing ROEs and maintaining payroll records. Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests from internal and external stakeholders. Assisting with performing year-end activities, such as assisting with regulatory annual filings, reconciling remittances and adjustments and processing tax slips. Ensure the accurate setup of new members to the appropriate benefits plan with responsibility of maintaining the information within the benefits system. Reconciliation of monthly bills and preparing monthly payments. Creating and maintaining process documentation. Prepare project-related reports as needed by management.








Job Requirements:

What we are looking for:




Payroll Compliance Practitioner Designation or working towards completion. 1-3 years' payroll experience with sound knowledge of all provincial and federal labor laws and regulations. Experience with ADP's WorkForce Now system is a strong asset. Experience with Industrial Alliance's My Client Space system and Deltek Visions system is an asset. Excellent computer skills in various computer applications like Microsoft Office suite and payroll, time tracking and benefits software. Superior problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems. Ability to build effective relationships and articulate collaboratively with all levels. Demonstrated ability to keep confidential information secure. Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision but also work well as a team member.
