The Human Resources Department at the Corporation of the County of Prince Edward is currently accepting applications for the full-time, permanent position of

Payroll Analyst

. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Payroll Analyst Level II will participate in all elements of the payroll cycle. This includes processing of employee pension administration, administration of sick leave and associated reporting and ensuring that all statutory requirements are met for payroll processing in a timely and accurate manner.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Post-secondary diploma in Payroll, Accounting or Business Administration is required. Minimum two years of direct, hands-on experience with payroll is required; preferably in a municipal environment. Certification with the National Payroll Institute is required. Previous payroll experience in a multi-union environment and/or with long-term care homes, an asset. Previous experience with OMERS or other defined benefit pension plans. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and related provincial Employment Standards. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a "continuous improvement" mindset. Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Excellent customer-service orientation with the ability to develop and maintain cooperative and collaborative internal working relationships. Effective verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills to respond to inquiries from management and staff. Ability to demonstrate professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use confidential information appropriately and treat sensitive situations with appropriate degree of tact and discretion. Proficiency in Financial software, reporting software, and Microsoft Office with a high competency level in Excel. Experience with Great Plains, Questica & TownSuite an asset. Ability to use software report writers to create and generate reports with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, is an asset. Proof of a satisfactory criminal background check.

The current annual salary range for this position is $81,982.57 to $114,795.39 as per the Non-Union By-Law. Compensation also includes a competitive benefit package and membership in OMERS, a defined benefit pension plan. Please submit your application prior to
