Lake Shore Gold (a subsidiary of Pan American Silver) is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to the surface via a modern 1080m deep shaft capable of 4800tpd.

We are looking to hire a

Payroll Administrator

(remote)

to join our

Timmins Operations

team in

Timmins, ON.

, on a

full-time basis.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day.


Please note that this is a remote role with occasional on-site presence required.

In this role, you will be responsible for all payroll functions relating to Hourly employees, including the processing of full-cycle hourly payroll.



Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator will have the following responsibilities:


Prepare and process the semi-monthly Hourly pay runs, and when required, prepare, and process the Salary groups pay runs full cycle accurately and on time Payroll data entry (employee earnings adjustments, allowances etc.) Process and review all time data entry for accuracy and completeness Process employee events payments i.e., Leave of absence, vacation payouts, termination, severance, MPPI bonuses, mine rescue etc. Adhere to stringent deadlines/timelines to meet banking deadlines Responsible for all hourly schedules including setup and maintenance Ensure payroll requests/information are fully documented and duly authorized Create and distribute pay statements Process record of employments Balance and distribute all payroll departmental reports Review and verify employee changes received from HR and review and verify Avanti entries/revisions to new employee and existing employee profiles/data to ensure accuracy and maintenance of the Avanti system Calculate/process off cycle payments and manual cheque runs as required Reconcile and process deductions of 3rd party payments, garnishments, including government remittances Assist in year-end processing of T4s, T4As, yearend rollover, adjustments, and annual reporting Ensure compliance with government legislation, payroll best practice and company policy Prepare, verify, and remit employee pension enrollments, changes, contributions and terminations Monitor and responsible for addressing employee payroll inquires Address inquiries from government agencies i.e., FRO, Service Canada, CRA Liaison with departments on payroll related items Responsible for liaising with government agencies, company auditors, and various LSG stakeholders Provide full backup of the Payroll Supervisor during absences Effectively streamline processes to reduce manual input
Maintain confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in all aspects of this position
Assist in project/program testing, along with any audits as required Other duties/projects as assigned

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:


Knowledge of relevant government regulations Experience with salaried and hourly union and/or non-union payroll is required PCP or CPM designation preferred - or relevant work experience 2-5 years of experience in a payroll processing role Must have strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills Accuracy and detail orientated Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills Knowledge of Avanti software is considered an asset

Overall, you are a motivated team player and demonstrate compliance with all health and safety regulations.
