Key Responsibilities:

Weekly payroll processing, including accurate and timely balancing and reviewing of payroll; Prepare Records of Employment in accordance with Employment Standards and Service Canada; Prepare employment verification letters; Prepare accurate monthly union remittances meeting strict deadlines; Process involuntary deductions such as garnishments; Assist with year-end reconciliations and processing T4s and T2200s; Answer questions and requests related to payroll information both internal and external

Qualifications:

3+ years experience in a complex, high volume, multi-province union environment; PCP designation (or working towards); Experience with UKG would be an asset; Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and Provincial Tax Regulations Quebec payroll administration would be considered a definite asset; Excellent written and oral communication skills; High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; Ability to learn and adapt to new systems; Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables and VLOOKUPs); Ability to work independently and in a team environment; Ability to take direction and response to changing priorities; Able to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks and initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, high volume environment; Able to work a flexible schedule including statutory holidays with possibility of overtime as required;
