As the Payroll Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Payroll :
Performs all activities necessary to process a biweekly payroll
Administers all aspects of payroll utilizing the automated ADP payroll system
Reviews exceptional time sheets and overtime and works with employees to resolve issues
Maintains payroll records, reconciliations and validations on different payroll functions
Assists in the review of Revenue Quebec Documents and requests
Assists in the processing of garnishments, vacation pay, and other special payments Interfaces with ADP regarding payroll system related questions and issues as needed
Record payroll entries for the expatriates and other types of staff for payroll purposes
Taxation & Other duties
Accounting and reporting payments for the Firm's tax equalization program
Liaise with Global Mobility Services and external vendors in providing information and analyses for expatriate employees
Ensure sound operational controls are maintained and followed in compliance with existing governance.
Coordinate and calculate withholding tax rates to be applied to equity-based compensation
Supports audits
Special projects as required
Profile
Profile Required
5+ years of payroll processing experience, financial services preferred
Bachelor's degree (preferably Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration) or equivalent professional experience
Experience processing payroll via ADP and knowledge of Workforce Now
Experience with time reporting via Peoplesoft
Must be familiar with federal and provincial (Quebec, Ontario, Alberta) taxation
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong working knowledge of Excel
Strong communication skills in French and English
Ability to be trusted with company and employee confidential information
Attentive to detail, be highly organized and adopt a continuous improvement mindset
Member of the Canadian Payroll Association (An Asset)
LANGUAGE:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
