We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in various payroll and accounting software.
Duties
Process payroll for 35-50 employees accurately and on time with PayWorks
Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy in payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Conduct data entry tasks related to payroll adjustments, deductions, and benefits enrollments.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions related to payroll transactions. Input and post A/R invoices and receipts.
EFT payments to vendors
Process employee expense accounts
Prepare documentation for holdback release.
Prepare Statutory Declarations for payment.
Collaborate with the human resources department to ensure seamless integration of employee data into the payroll system.
Assist with preparation of year end reports for accounting.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries regarding payroll processes.
Assist with various other administrative duties as required including answering incoming calls.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
Strong understanding of accounting principles related to payroll processing.
Knowledge of bookkeeping duties, A/R, A/P, year end.
Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
Knowledge of human resources practices as they relate to payroll management.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
National Payroll institute courses are an asset
Post Secondary diploma in bookkeeping or relevant discipline
Proficiency with SAGE software an asset
Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices
5 years minimum experience in payroll or bookkeeping
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$73,000.00 per year
