Position Summary:



We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Administrator.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities Perform daily payroll department operations for multiple business divisions Preparing and processing of biweekly hourly and salary payroll for over 500 employees, union and non-union Review and ensure accuracy of approved electronic time sheets. Resolve issues and provide information to location administrators as required Assist in the preparation of T4's, ROE's and various payroll reports Input payroll data accurately and ensure it is complete in the accounting system including new hire information, terminations, and payroll changes on a regular basis Assist with benefits administration including enrolling eligible employees, making appropriate deductions from payroll, and being an informational resource for staff Reconcile and remit payments to various vendors and agencies, including RRSPs and company benefits Maintain records in compliance with current legal requirements ensuring confidentiality of information and files Coordinate with human resources and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee files Review and code employee expense reports Prepare journal entries as needed Produce accurate ad hoc reports as requested

Skills and Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a computerized payroll environment Experience with ADP WFN or Ceridian considered an asset Knowledge of BC employment standards Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines Excellent accounting and computer skills Ability to communicate professionally and effectively
