Role Summary:

The Payment Service Specialist has the overall responsibility of handling a variety of outgoing and incoming cheques that are to applied to policies within Sun Life Financial. The successful applicant will work in a team environment to ensure processing times are met and strict quality standards are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort and open incoming mail
  • Log, track & categorize cheques
  • Reply to requests involving payments in a timely manner
  • Determine payment amounts on policies
  • Review new applications and communicate with internal business partners to determine when a payment can be applied to a new policy
  • Process & reconcile daily deposits

Assets:
  • Bilingual (Written)
  • An understanding of the Insurance Business (including Individual)
  • Knowledge of products and processes within Sun Life Financial
  • Knowledge of CSW, MVS, FileNet, Excel and Outlook
Notes/Unique requirements:
  • Applicants will be required to pass RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
  • This role may also require overtime when required
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
