Paving Foreman-Patch & Utility

to work in a full-time capacity, in various locations throughout Edmonton. The Foreman must be able to align with the company's core purpose and core values. Core Purpose: Building positive Change in our Communities; Core Values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect.

Responsibilities: The Paving Foreman-Patch & Utility must be able to:

Lead and supervise the paving crew/utilities/patching;

Operate various kinds of Paving Equipment such as hot-pour unit, spray seal unit, infrared unit, rollers and pavers;

Under the supervision of Superintendent, completes all paving and utility activities on company projects;

Complete all required paperwork on a daily basis;

Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;

Provide effective leadership and training to the paving crew;

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competences: The Paving Foreman ideally will possess:

Some experience running paving equipment including hot-pour unit, spray seal unit, infrared unit, rollers and pavers;

Minimum 3 years experience in road construction industry;

Through knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment and municipal road building industry;

Prior experience and knowledge of paving process is required;

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience will be an asset;

Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license or above with a clean drivers abstract;

Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure;

High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions;

Ability to work in varying weather conditions;

Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision;

Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends;

Valid safety certifications.

Other Skills

Must be able to lead crew culture with accountability.

Must be able to nurture a culture of team-work, respectful and professional communication consistently.

Additional Information:

This is a year around position.

Candidates must be open to long working hours in the summertime.

Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required.

Training will be provided for various activities.
