Job Description

As part of the Environmental Services Department, the successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective transportation and movement of patients and patient-care related materials throughout the Hospital. As part of the patient service team, you will have an opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to timely and customer focused transportation utilizing an efficient dispatch and reporting system. Some of the duties in this role include:

Escorting and transporting patients from one point to another within the hospital; Transporting deceased patients to the morgue; Transporting patient-care specific goods and materials from one point to another; Transporting food carts to and from Food Services to Patient Care areas and delivering food trays to bedside; Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability to read, speak, understand and write in English, at a basic level. Current BLS certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively use email, telephone, radio, paging and hand-held computer equipment. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize tasks appropriately. Ability to work independently and as an effective team member. Excellent customer service skills coupled with good interpersonal skills. Demonstrated decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills in order to deal with difficult and crisis situations in a timely and results oriented manner. Basic arithmetic skills. Must have an excellent attendance record and remain in good standing. Must be available to work all shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Shift / Hours of Work: 0700-1500 Weekend days


Shifts are subject to change based on departmental needs.
