Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Manager, the incumbent: * Assists in the organization and coordination of the workflow to ensure efficient utilization of resources, and carries out day-to-day operations in the absence of the Manager.

• Responsible for supporting the daily reconciliation and oversight of morgues within the Centre and liaises with other stakeholders as required.
• Carries out assigned Patient Transport functions.

Experience

• Minimum three years experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a hospital environment required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as Patient Transport Assistant within a hospital environment preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards required.
• Completion of recognized course in management or supervision an asset.

SPECIAL TRAINING:

• Basic computer skills required.
• Family and Friends CPR training preferred.
• Must successfully complete on the job Cushman Cart Training within three months.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with an aptitude for process improvement and customer service.
• Must have demonstrated the ability to provide direction to others in a respectful and professional manner.
• Must possess good analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must be able to delegate responsibilities fairly and appropriately.

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity required.
• Periods of continuous walking and standing.
• Lifting, turning and transferring of patients (some in excess of 270 kgs) required.
• Considerable bending, pushing, pulling and lifting required in the transport of equipment (10-270 kgs) within the Centre.
• Must be able to adjust to unforeseen circumstances and/or fast-paced situations.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases and occasional adverse weather conditions.
• Compliance with workplace safety precautions required.
