The Professional Practice and Rehabilitation teams support care for acute inpatients as well as ambulatory services within our outpatient clinic for Physiotherapy, Hand Therapy and the outpatient Rehabilitation Day Programs. Our interprofessional teams are comprised of Regulated Healthcare Professionals including Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, well as unregulated Rehabilitation Assistants and clerical staff. Each member of the team has a specific role to play to ensure the seamless integration of care. Together the team provides exceptional, patient-centered care.


We are currently seeking a

Patient Service Clerk

to support our Adult Outpatient Clinics.


The successful candidate will support outpatient clinic needs two days a week, with an emphasis on our Outpatient Stroke Program, the Rehabilitation Day program. There will be opportunity to cross train to support the other clinic areas as well.


This position includes but is not limited to duties such as navigating outpatient referrals, queries, appointment bookings/follow ups, organizing clinician calendars and group bookings, managing clinical wait lists, and provincial reporting of financial and patient care data.


The successful candidate is someone who is adaptable to change and process improvement and is patient and person centered.


As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:



Medical Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Program essential Office administration experience in a hospital environment or equivalent Competencies: Computer literacy - Microsoft Office - essential II. Keyboarding skills - 50wpm - essential Current experience with Meditech, including registration, EMR, order entry and appointment scheduling an asset Current experience in the processing of referrals and orders is an asset
