Job Purpose:

As a

Pastry Cook

, you are a key part of our kitchen team and the creative force behind our freshly baked pastries and desserts. You will prepare and present high-quality pastries with care and consistency, ensuring our guests enjoy an exceptional culinary experience. Your skill, attention to detail, and passion for pastry arts are essential to our continued success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Guest Experience Support:

Create pastries and desserts that delight and complement our coffee and cafe offerings.

Pastry Preparation:

Mix, bake, and finish pastries, breads, and desserts to established recipes and standards.

Menu Knowledge:

Maintain knowledge of our pastry lineup and seasonal items to assist staff with recommendations.

Consistency & Quality:

Ensure all products meet our standards for taste, presentation, and freshness.

Inventory & Ordering:

Assist with stock rotation, ingredient tracking, and communicating supply needs.

Cleanliness:

Keep the pastry station, kitchen, and equipment clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.

Compliance:

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.

Teamwork:

Work closely with kitchen and cafe staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.

Creativity:

Contribute ideas for new menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications:

Education:

Culinary or pastry training preferred but not required.

Experience:

At least 1 year of professional pastry or baking experience.

Personality:

Passionate, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence.

Communication:

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Customer Service:

Commitment to creating products that elevate the guest experience.

Detail-Oriented:

Strong focus on consistency, flavor, and presentation.

Certification:

Food Safe Level 1 or willingness to obtain (preferred).
Working Conditions:

Fast-paced kitchen and cafe environment. Required to operate ovens, mixers, and other pastry equipment. Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and work for long periods. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (bags of flour, trays, ingredients, etc.).

Head Chef / Cafe Manager
