Job Description


The Pastry Chef, based at the Fogo Island Inn, will excel in a fast-paced and energetic environment. The Pastry Chef will prepare menu items while maintaining and implementing exceptional service standards. General responsibilities

  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of pastry trends to keep the pastry department current, while having knowledge of traditional Newfoundland puddings, desserts and sweets
  • Monitoring the development of a la carte items as dictated by current season and Newfoundland tradition
  • To maintain all pastry equipment and ensure proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Provide leadership to the culinary team, assist with training and supervising kitchen staff
  • Other responsibilities as necessary to enhance guest experience
