Fanshawe College is seeking interested and qualified professionals to teach didactic and clinical courses in the Dental Assisting (DAS) and Dental Hygiene (DHY) programs in the School of Health Sciences .

Duties

: Reporting to the Associate Dean, School of Health Sciences , p art-time Professors a re responsible for teaching courses within the DHY and DAS p rogram s and developing an effective learning environment for students

General Qualifications:

Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success Excellent communicator Strong interpersonal skills Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred Proven ability to work in a team environment Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets

Specific

Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's degree in a related discipline; consideration will be given to applicants currently enrolled in a Master's program Minimum 5 years' recent and relevant experience An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements Dental Assistants must be a graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program with successful completion of the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) Exam along with a Baccalaureate degree (or in progress) in a related field is required Dental Hygienists must be graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene progra m along with a Baccalaureate degree (or in progress) in a related field is r equired Post-secondary teaching or training experience is required , with the preferred candidate demonstrating experience in curriculum design and experience with inter-professional education initiatives
