The successful candidate will be required to teach MENG4010
Course Description:
Through hands-on practice and projects, this course will provide a strong foundation in networking technologies, fundamental to computer and industrial networks. The core topics discussed include protocols and standards, architectures, addressing, devices, media and signals. Students will explore techniques and technologies to secure, manage, and optimize communication networks. Concepts in wireless communications and sensor networks will be introduced. Experience with Siemens 7 and Logix 5000 (Rockwell) required.
What you need to be successful:
Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Minimum three years of industry experience in a relevant field
Practical knowledge in the main and emerging fields of Mechatronics and Automation including Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing
Experience with ABB IRC5 industrial robots, industrial networking, Rockwell and Siemens PLCs.
Ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students
Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and fostering innovation and positive change
Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Universal Design for Learning, best practices in pedagogy, equity and inclusion, experiential learning
Ability to be a collaborative team player
Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery are required
This is a part-time academic position (3-4 hours/weekly). Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
